Saint Ambrose College, Hale Barns, Altrincham

Saint Ambrose College is a Catholic boys' grammar school with a selective intake. It is part of the Edmund Rice schools network and has ties with the global Edmund Rice community. The school enjoys strong relationships and partnerships within the Diocese of Shrewsbury. Saint Ambrose is first and foremost a Catholic college shaped in the vision and charism of Blessed Edmund Rice, and it endeavours to reflect the Eight Essentials of an Edmund Rice education in all that it does.

As with many of our Trust's schools, sport plays an integral role at the College. There have been countless successes in rugby, water polo and swimming, with a number of students being selected to represent their region and country in sports ranging from football, rugby, golf, long jump and lacrosse.

St Anselm’s College, Birkenhead

St Anselm's College was founded in 1933. It is part of the Edmund Rice network and as such aims to foster the spiritual, intellectual, physical and personal development of boys aged 11 to 18, equipping them for life in the 21st century. The College serves to provide distinctly Roman Catholic education to boys in Wirral and Merseyside. Students receive impressive examination results and the majority of year 13 leavers proceed to university. Academic achievement is not the only indicator of the school's success, though. The school seeks to educate the whole person in the tradition of the Christian Brothers and Blessed Edmund Rice. A wealth of sporting and extra-curricular pursuits are provided.

St Edward’s College, Liverpool

St Edward’s College offers an inspiring and challenging Catholic education to over 1200 children from across Liverpool and further afield. An explicitly Catholic culture prioritises serving God through serving one another in community, demonstrating commitment, caring for others and striving for success. These values are drawn from our rich history and patrimony, the vision of Blessed Edmund Rice, founder of the Congregation of Christian Brothers and Father James Nugent who, in 1853, established what was later to become St Edward’s College. Pupils and staff are guided by the ethos of the College in the way they conduct their lives and relate to one another – all are encouraged to work hard, respect themselves and respect others, to do and to be their best.
